Welcome to
Sulphur Springs Camp
Fishing has long been the number one attraction of our camp visitors. During the spring months of February, March, and April, the annual white bass run occurs. The sand bass, or white bass as they are called, come from Lake Buchanan upstream to spawn in the waters of Sulphur Springs Camp, Inc. During these months it is not unusual for people to catch their limit in a very short time. The Colorado River offers many types of fish to be caught. Catfish such as Channel Catfish, Flathead (Yellow Cat) Catfish, and Chuckleheaded Blue Catfish, White Bass, Carp, Stripers, Crappie, Buffalo, Gar, Perch, and many other kinds are here for the angler to pursue.
For those who do not enjoy fishing, the camp offers many other activities such as: bird watching, inner tubing, swimming, volleyball, white water canoeing, or just relaxing and enjoying being in the beautiful rustic country surroundings. The abundance of wildlife animals provides an excellent place for animal lovers. Deer, turkey, squirrels, raccoons, and birds of many species are plentiful here and one may watch their activities in their natural surroundings. Many people enjoy taking pictures of the abundant wildlife, also.
Camp Attractions
Our sulphur spring is the inspiration to our name and camp. Our spring fed swimming pool is one of the most fascinating attractions at camp. Since this is a natural spring fed pool, the water stays at a constant temperature of sixty-eight degrees. The setting for the pool is breathtaking. From the pool one can hear the flow of the river approximately fifty feet away and watch the deer play along the cliffs across the river. Picnic tables are provided next to the pool for public use. The camp has a store located in the office at the camp entrance. The store offers not only groceries, but camping and fishing supplies also. You won't want to leave without a souvenir cap and t-shirt!
